Lane Clark & Peacock welcome budget announcement on pensions tax simplification

Lane Clark & Peacock LLP, the actuarial consultant, has welcomed the Government’s decision to proceed with pensions tax simplification, and said that the decision to put back the implementation to April 2006 would give the industry time for ‘proper consideration of the final details’.
Francis Fernandes, one of the partners, said: ‘We welcome the Government’s decision to proceed and its pragmatic approach by deferring implementation by a year. We look forward to the details being finalised very soon – then the countdown will be really on for many individuals to consider the various options on offer to protect benefits built up before 6th April 2006.’
