When it comes to providing the best mortgages, HSBC, First Direct, and Yorkshire Building Society have come out on top in the Moneyfacts Awards.
The financial comparison website found that HSBC mortgages excelled in the categories of Best Remortgage Provider, Best First Time Buyer Mortgage Provider and Best Bank Mortgage Provider.
“These awards are a huge achievement and demonstrate how far we have come as a mortgage lender in a very short period,” said Martijin van der Heijden, head of HSBC mortgages and its mortgage arm First Direct, commenting on the awards.
“They recognise HSBC and First Direct as the leading mortgage providers for innovation, service and value.”
First Direct picked up the awards for Best Variable Rate Mortgage Provider and Best Remortgage Provider.
Yorkshire Building Society, meanwhile, received the awards for Best Long Term Fixed Rate Mortgage Provider, as well as Best Short Term Fixed Rate Mortgage Provider.
Chris Edwards, head of Yorkshire Building Society mortgages, said: “We’re delighted to have been given this independent recognition at this crucial time when fixed rate mortgages are seeing a resurgence in popularity.
Mr Edwards added that “With continued uncertainty about what will happen to rates in the coming months, now is a great time to choose a fixed rate deal.”
Commenting on this year’s awards, Lee Tillcock, editor of Moneyfacts, said: “The Moneyfacts Awards continue to recognise and reward outstanding service levels and product quality in the personal finance sector.”
