Financial services company Edward Jones is to hold a free seminar in Guildford on February 27th to help consumers make the best choices for the retirement planning.

Commenting on the issue, Brian Potter, a financial adviser and stockbroker with Edward Jones in Guildford, said: “It’s never too early to start investing for retirement. The earlier investments are made, the more time they have to grow and reap the proven benefits of a long-term investment strategy. Investing for the long-term is really the key to successful retirement planning.”

He stressed that successful retirement means doing more than just paying into a plan every year and that the best results will be achieved by “clear objectives” and a well planned saving strategy.

Mr Potter noted that, given the current pressure on the state pension schemes, it is important for consumers to be fully aware of their pension opportunities.
