Left ISA investment to the last minute? Apply online

Commenting, chartered financial planner at Fairinvestment.co.uk, Sharon Bratley said: “There are bound to be people who have left their tax efficient investing to the last minute. This can cause problems for paper applications, many of which close before the official deadline, particularly if like this year, the end of the tax year falls over a weekend, but many ISA products can be applied for online until almost midnight on Sunday.
“Some people may still feel unsettled about investing large sums of money online, and if this is the case, then they need to submit their paper applications in good time. However, for those who are happy to invest online, particularly if it is the difference between using or losing the tax free savings allowance, then even if they leave it until Sunday, they can still take advantage of the tax breaks provided by ISAs.”
Fairinvestment.co.uk has compiled a handy comparison table for last minute ISA deals which allow online applications. So, if you have left it too late for the paper application process, use the table to find the best online ISA option for you. Products that allow online applications as late as midnight on Sunday April 5 include Barclays Wealth ISAs and the TD Waterhouse Trading ISA.
