Abbey has introduced two new guaranteed investment products, the Guaranteed Growth Plan and Guaranteed Capital Plus.

With a minimum investment of £1,500, Abbey has stated that the new products are tax efficient and that returns can be made without income and capital gains tax and will be available until April 22nd 2008.

The Guaranteed Growth Plan offers a minimum return of six per cent over 3.5 years, while the Guaranteed Capital Plus provides an 18 per cent return after 3.5 years with guaranteed minimum return of two per cent for both terms.

Reza Attar-Zadeh, head of savings and investments division at Abbey, noted that many people may be wary of taking out investments due to the current stock market turbulence, but stressed that the new products offer minimal risk.

He commented: “Abbey’s structured product range allows investors to benefit from any stock market growth without putting their capital at risk.”
