Scottish paying less for holidays

People in Scotland are paying less for their holidays when they decide to take a break, it has been claimed.
According to research from M&S; Money, 63 per cent of Scots manage to spend less than £500 on a week away, compared to 53 per cent of people in London.
However, Scottish people come out on top when it comes to taking spending money with them.
The research indicated that the average amount taken away by people from Scotland was £287.
And they may end up paying more for travel insurance, or spending a large amount on hospital fees if they opt not to take out cover.
“Scots and northerners are getting the best value on their holiday money,” said James Yerkess, M&S; Travel money manager.
August is traditionally the most popular month for taking a holiday, as children are usually not in school.
