M&S; Money has predicted that two million people in the UK will go shopping from today for items such as foreign currency, travel insurance and new clothes.
The company has stated that they usually see a 60 per cent upturn in business over the season, while holiday booking increased 40 per cent.
Travel money manager for the firm James Yerkess commented that Britons know what they are doing when it comes to stocking up for their holidays.
“Waiting until 10 days before a holiday means that these bargains can be bagged at the same time as purchasing holiday essentials like travel money,” he said.
Meanwhile, the National Consumer Council has warned that holidays in the UK are pricier than those abroad.
