Direct Line car insurance offers free cover for 8 weeks

20 October 2009 / by Rachael Stiles

Direct Line is offering new customers free car insurance for eight weeks, it has announced, to help consumers who are finding their budgets stretched during the recession.

Many drivers have reportedly been ditching their car insurance in recent months in a bid to save money, but they might not have to turn to such drastic measures if they take out Direct Line car insurance.

Boasting the same cover as usual but at a discounted premium, the new offer from Direct Line is available to new car insurance customers until 30 November 2009.

Direct Line car insurance customers can also benefit from features like the Direct Line ‘vandalism promise’, and the ‘uninsured driver promise’, which mean policyholders will not have to pay excess or lose their no claims discount by making a claim which results from vandalism or being hit by an uninsured driver.

Commenting on the special offer, head of marketing for Direct Line, Kerry Chilvers, said: “Direct Line is well known for providing outstanding products and services, and in the current financial climate, our offers highlight the fact that we have some of the best value products on the market.”
