Sainsbury’s new credit card offer

11 April 2006
Sainsbury’s Bank has today announced the launch of a new credit card offer with a zero per cent APR on purchases for the first 12 months.

This limited time deal is only available until May 31st but, according to the bank, it provides the longest zero per cent rate currently on the market. After the initial 12-month period the purchase APR will revert to 15.9 per cent.

In addition, the card will not charge a fee for balance transfers and customers can accrue Nectar points when using the card in outlets participating in the loyalty scheme.

“We are keen to reward the Sainsbury’s shopper with one of the most attractive cards in the marketplace,” said credit cards manager Donald Macleod.

“We remain committed to offering some of the most competitive credit cards available. Many providers have cut back on their interest free offers but our special offer card provides 12 months at zero per cent, the longest in the market,” he added.

Having recently been named ” Best New Credit Card Product of the Year 2006″ by Moneyfacts, Sainsbury’s Bank’s new card has what many would consider to be a competitive lifetime balance transfer rate of 5.94 per cent.
