Just Retirement saw record pension annuity sales in the six months up to the end of December last year.
The group saw £349million worth of pension annuity sales during this period, up more than 28 per cent compared to the same six months in 2008.
According to the results, Just Retirement also experienced record applications for enhanced annuities in 2009.
Overall the group, which also provides equity release, saw its sales grow by 26 per cent year-on-year, up to £446million.
Commenting on the sales figures, Mike Fuller, CEO at Just Retirement said: “Just Retirement faced the challenges of the global financial crisis in 2008 and 2009 with a clear strategy. Profitability and capital were the two cornerstones of this approach.
“I am pleased to say that we have continued to deliver on this strategy while, at the same time, reporting very strong sales figures.”
Commenting on 2010, he adds: “We have experienced an excellent start to the year and I look forward to the next six months with considerable confidence.”
